Some new items

I've made a few new items to share. I made another yoga bag.. similar to the first one. However, I changed the lining a bit on this one. A friend of mine is getting married and wanted to give them to her future Mother in law and Sister in law. She gave them to them last weekend and she said they were a HUGE HIT!!! Totally made my day. These bags are so pretty in person and the fabric couldn't be more perfect.

The Lining... aaahhh relaxing.

Next I made a small tote for my friend who is my VP of Graffic Arts for Handmade by Heidi Inc. LOL. She went to UofA and I found the fabric first - then had to come up with a good idea how to use it. She loved the bag - I wanted to keep it myself.. it's adorable. I got the idea to put the label on the outside from a similar bag that someone else made.

And lastly - I've been busy making Corn Bags.. have you ever seen them? They are awesome!! You can heat them in the microwave and use for a heat pack on sore muscles. Or you can keep them in the freezer and use as an ice pack. I've made too many of the large ones to count - these are a HOT item with all my friends/family. I've also made some small ones with this cute kid fabric. I've been keeping this one in the freezer as an ice pack. I gave one to my Aunt in Vegas to use for her Great Grandson when he's visiting. He's only 1 and has alot of bumps and stumbles ahead of him.

Come back soon - I have so much more to share in the coming days. I'm making some super cute blankets for the same person that I made the pillow for. Can't wait to share those with you. And I also have some additional bags I'm working on.

Have a great day!!!

Charm bags.. Made these for some ladies at Church

Here are a couple bags that I made for some women at Church. They are similar fabrics - but different. Both of them turned out really cute and the women loved them!

This is fabric by Moda "Portugal"

Close up of the stitching...

This next one is also fabric by Moda "Patisserie". After making this bag, I fell in love with the fabric and decided that I need more - I want to make a quilt with it. It's so calming and pretty. It has a vintage look to it.

My first Quilt... I'm so proud

Well, I did it.. I made my first "real" quilt. I started it in February - finished the quilt top pretty quickly. But it is finally totally finished.

I was originally going to give it away to someone that I had in mind.. but I just can't bring myself to do it. I think I should keep the first one. I'm going to hang it in my sewing room.

Projects for my Girls weekend

Well, I'm getting excited about an upcoming girls weekend with some of my best friends. We have been doing this annually and I look forward to it every year! I'm been making a few projects to add to the "goodie bags" for everyone. The first is a Curling Iron Sleeve -Every girl needs one for traveling.

One of the girls in the group doesn't use a curling iron - so I made her hot pads for her kitchen instead. This is some of my favorite fabric - it's so colorful and cheery.

I have more for the girls weekend.. but I don't want to spoil it for anyone - so I'll post those items next week.

Well, it has been much to long since I have posted anything out here. I appologize and promise to be better. I have completed quite a bit since my last post. So you are in for a treat.

First - I had my 'sale' at the March Madness event a few weeks back at Next Coffee Company - it was fun and a great learning experience. I will be doing this again in the future for sure. Probably in the fall just in time for the Holiday shopping season!!

Secondly, here is a pillow I made for someone - it was a special request. This is made with super soft Minky fabric - if you have never felt Minky.. you must get your hands on some. It's the softest thing ever!!! Trust me.. you'll have trouble putting it down. The front of the pillow is a soft lavender and the back is a very pretty green. I wasn't so sure about putting them together but after it was done.. I was in awe. The colors looked so good together! Here are the pictures.

Third - I recieved a special request to create a childs purse (10 years old). This was so fun because I was able to use some cute fun fabrics. And her Mom reported back and told me how much she loved it!! She wouldn't even put it down at Church on Sunday! Now there is a girl after my own heart.. her love of bags begins!

And finally - I made this 'hand' quilt for one of my girlfriends. Her birthday is next week and I will be seeing her for an annual trip that we take. Can't wait to give this to her. She will be totally surprised! These are the traced hands of her 3 girls. Her kitchen has a 'bistro' theme - that is the reason for the choice of fabrics. This was so fun to make!

Well, I hope you have enjoyed my newest creations. I have a lot of things in the works right now that I will be finishing up this weekend. I will commit to post them by Monday night next week! I promise. So come back and see what I've been up to.

Have a great day!
